Soul Kitchen - Now More Analog than Ever!

With the addition of a few tasty pieces of new gear, things are sounding better than ever. Neve, Universal Audio, Neumann and Chandler just to name a few. Mmmm Analog just the way you love it. I've been keeping very busy these last few months. Post Adolescence and I completed a killer little 3 song that absolutely rocks - They might be better live...Check them out. Mixed an amazing Nepotistas session done at Chroma that sounds so Live and Tasty. Ref The Fox is just about finished with final mixes. Girls who Rock are cool and these girls Rock! Somali Hip Hoppers Buzhfamily have been booking some time with me over at London Bridge and it is definately getting heavy up in there. Check out Marabno and Waa Ka Wataa - they're gettin' it down. Got a couple Singles on the new Martin n' Terry Disc Determination. Kind, old school, reggae my friends. More coming from him next year. If that is not enough for you, The new record from Defender is getting real radio play down in San Francisco, and recently won GarageBands song of the day. This stuff has heavy beats and eclectic electronics all over it. Turn off the lights and turn it up. Bands coming in soon - SYFT, Daichi, The Upper Hand. Lots more on the way. Lot's of other one off's too - I love it! That's all for now. Call me and ask about how kick ass London Bridge is - You will sound amazing in there! Oh, almost forgot, Blake Lewis' first Single - Break Anotha and a few other songs off his new record were recorded at London Bridge. I was there assisting. Nice.

London Bridge Studios Connection!

Here's a little heads up for all my musical peoples. I began an internship at London Bridge Studios a little over a month ago, and things have been going very well. In addition to assisting some killer producers like Phil Ek, Kelly Gray, Matt Shaw, Aaron Sprinkle, Rick Parasher, Jeff Ott and Jonathan Plum, I have been running sessions, and have gotten killer tones recording there. I want to start using London Bridge in sessions with my bands. Any takers? Analog truly is warmer, and London Bridge has a killer Neve from 1971. It just doesn't get much better than that. Throw in one of the best live rooms in the world (think BIG beautiful drums), your music could sound better than ever.

Here is what I propose. Pre-production here at Soul Kitchen. Record Drums and whatever else the budget allows at London Bridge (think acoustic instruments). Record everything else, edit and do good rough mixes here at Soul Kitchen. Finish final mixing here or at London Bridge...mmmmm, smell the analog. For those of you who were scared off by my mainly digital set up, we have options now with London Bridge in the picture. 2" 24 track Tape? London Bridge. I can't think of a better way to go, can you?

Let me know if you have any questions!

Talk to you soon
MC
